Air Express Tiers & Volumetric Weight
- • Next-Flight-Out (NFO): 6–10 hrs domestic Australia; 24h uplift to Auckland (AKL) & Singapore (SIN) for urgent AOG/medical spares.
- • Priority Air Express: 24–48 hrs to APAC (Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, Auckland); 48–72 hrs to US (LAX, JFK, ORD) & UK/EU (LHR, FRA, AMS). Economy Deferred: 4–6 business days (~30% saving).
- • Max Piece & Volumetric Formula: 1,000 kg max single piece (300cm × 200cm × 155cm). Volumetric kg = (L × W × H in cm) ÷ 6000 (167 kg/m³).

FCL/LCL Payloads, Transit & Detention
- • Container Max Payloads: 20ft Standard: 28,200 kg (33.2m³, 10 AU pallets) | 40ft Standard: 26,700 kg (67.7m³, 20 AU pallets) | 40ft High-Cube: 26,500 kg (76.4m³) | Reefer: -30°C to +30°C.
- • Port-to-Port Transit (Ex SYD/MEL): Auckland 4–6d | Singapore 11–13d | Shanghai/Ningbo 14–16d | Los Angeles 18–21d | Rotterdam/Felixstowe/London 34–38d.
- • Free Time & Detention: 3 calendar days free wharf storage + 7 calendar days free container detention. Thereafter: $95 AUD/day (20ft) and $180 AUD/day (40ft).
Border Clearance & DAFF
Customs (SAC / N10), ISPM 15 & BMSB
- • SAC Declaration (≤$1,000 AUD): $48 AUD clearance fee, duty-free entry (10% GST applies).
- • Formal N10 Import Declaration (>$1,000 AUD): $135 AUD brokerage fee (up to 5 tariff lines). Requires Commercial Invoice, Packing List, BOL/AWB & Certificate of Origin (ChAFTA, AUSFTA, AUKFTA).
- • Biosecurity & Timber: Solid timber dunnage/pallets must carry ISPM 15 stamps (unmarked fumigation $290 AUD min). Mandatory BMSB stink bug treatment applies 1 Sep – 30 Apr from 40+ Northern Hemisphere countries.
Compliance, Insurance & Hubs
Dangerous Goods, Transit Cover & Cut-Offs
- • Lithium Batteries & DG: Certified for Classes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 & 9 ($145 AUD DG surcharge). Loose UN3480 Lithium-ion batteries must fly Cargo Aircraft Only (CAO) at ≤30% state of charge; UN3481 packed in equipment (≤100Wh) allowed on standard express air.
- • Marine Insurance & Claims: Statutory carrier liability is capped at $35 AUD/kg (air) and $3.50 AUD/kg (sea). ICC 'A' All-Risks Marine Transit Insurance costs 0.45% of invoice value ($55 AUD min, $250 AUD excess).
- • Major Australian Hubs (SYD Mascot, MEL Tullamarine, BNE Eagle Farm): Open Mon–Fri 6 AM – 8 PM, Sat 7 AM – 1 PM. Same-day metro pickup cut-off 1:30 PM; air lodge-in 4:30 PM. Tail-lift surcharge $85 AUD.
